Jody and Kristian

A bohemian inspired celebration by the sea

“We can’t thank you enough for the work that the Paradise Cove team did to bring our wedding together at the last minute. Everybody went above and beyond and created such a great atmosphere. The venue really is paradise and we can’t wait to be back!”

The Love Story Begins:

We met in 2013 when we were living at the same college at University in Townsville

The Question gets Popped:

It was an afternoon picnic at the beach with our dogs, where he used our puppy to bring the ring to me

How and why did you decide on a destination wedding? And why the Whitsundays?

My family are in NSW and Kristian’s are in Brisbane/Rockhampton so we were unsure of where to get married. We wanted it to be somewhere that everybody could have a holiday. The Whitsundays has always been one of our favourite places so we wanted our family and friends to get the chance to experience it as well. We love the Whitsundays so much that we now live here!

How did you decide our wedding venue?

We wanted a very relaxed and non-traditional wedding and Paradise Cove gave us the flexibility to create exactly what we were after. We also loved the idea of having the ceremony and reception at the same venue so that we got to spend more time with our guests. Not to mention it’s one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen!

What inspired your day?

After seeing what you created for the Josh and Josh competition wedding, we knew that we were after something similar. My amazing wedding vendors helped to bring it all together

What’s the one thing you recommend couples invest in for their big day?

The right vendors who you trust so then you don’t have anything to worry about.

Most memorable moment?

It’s impossible to choose the most memorable moment as the whole day was like a dream.

Any funny stories or mishaps?

There were a few tropical showers throughout the day so the bottom of my wedding dress got soaking wet and became extremely heavy so I cut the dress off at the knees. Nothing was getting in the way of me dancing all night long!

Do you have any unique wedding tips to help the day run smoothly?

On the day forget about any of your plans of how things are supposed to run and just let things come as they are so you can be stress free.

Did you honeymoon, where and for how long!?

We spent 10 days in Samoa followed by a week in New Zealand

One last little question…

What would you recommend as the “Top Things to Do” in the Whitsundays whilst you were here for your wedding?

A group of us did the Thundercat day trip which was such a perfect way for everyone to get to see the amazing Whitehaven beach and snorkel the GBR.
